Motorcycle Training Course

The Motorcycle Training Course (MTC) is part of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program (CMSP).  The MTC is approximately 16 hours, 6 hours classroom and 10 hours of riding experience.  It is designed for the beginning rider but will offer additional knowledge and practice for the more experienced rider.

Successful completion of the MTC waives the riding portion of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) motorcycle licensing requirements.  Some insurance companies also offer discounts for completing the MTC.  The MTC is required if you are under 21 to obtain your M1 permit or endorsement.

Helmets and motorcycles are provided for the course; scooters are also available but must be requested at the time of enrollment.

The MTC is conducted over a single weekend, 3 hours Friday evening 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 8 hours Saturday 7:30 AM-12:30 PM, 1:30-4:30 PM, and Sunday 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
