This comprehensive 900-hour program provides students with the administrative, clinical, and phlebotomy skills needed to succeed in today's healthcare environment. Through classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, and a 160-hour externship, students gain practical experience that prepares them to enter the workforce with confidence.
Whether entering the workforce for the first time, changing careers, or seeking advancement opportunities, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional habits needed to succeed in a variety of healthcare settings, including medical offices, clinics, and specialty practices.

Course Completion Requirements
To successfully graduate from the program, students must fulfill the following benchmarks:
- Classroom & Lab Training: Complete 740 instructional hours.
- Academic Competency: Pass all course competencies with a minimum score of 80%.
- Clinical Externship: Complete 160 practical training hours in a professional medical office.
- Attendance Policy: Maintain satisfactory attendance throughout the program. Please note that Friday sessions may be required to make up hours due to holidays or unexpected absences.
Program Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Medical Assisting CTE Training Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Age: 18 years of age or older.
- Residency: Must be a California resident.
- Identification: Hold a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Education: Official High School transcript, GED, or HiSET (or proof of enrollment, but must graduate before clinicals begin).
- Orientation: Attendance is mandatory on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
- Assessment Scores: CASAS Reading Score of 239+ and Math Score of 236+ during orientation testing.
Note: Applicants scoring 228–238 in Reading or 215–235 in Math may qualify through mandatory co-enrollment in supplemental support courses. Full CASAS compliance is required before starting your externship.
Required Materials & Fees
Students are required to purchase the following materials and fees:
- Classroom Supplies: Pens, Pencils, Notebook, highlighters, and 3 ring binder.
- Uniform: 2 sets of navy blue scrubs, closed-toe, closed-heel, water & slip-resistant shoes, and a 2 hand watch.
- Professional Fees: Medical Assistant Exam, CPR/First Aid certification, and liability insurance.
