English as a Second Language (ESL) - Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes are offered for English learners which integrate writing, speaking, listening and reading. Classes are on-going and continuous throughout the calendar year both the morning and evening.
Classes not only provide English as a second language and computer skills, but also assist students in understanding and participating in governmental, educational, workplace, and institutional settings.
Within the context of developing ESL skills, classes are designed to teach parents and guardians how to help their children with homework, how to communicate with schools, and how to practice English with their children at home.
A person must be 18 years old or older to attend an ESL class at Woodland Adult Education. To join an ESL class students must first attend an orientation class and take a pre-test. This orientation class provides information, counseling, assessment and placement for each student
