At Woodland Adult Education, we understand that adult learners need flexible options to achieve their educational goals. Our program is WASC-accredited and provides a hybrid learning environment, combining online and in-person instruction. Our Adult High School Diploma program is specifically designed to help you earn your diploma at your own pace, fitting your education into your busy life.

Adult independent study

Adult independent study

For students who prefer a self-paced learning environment or cannot attend regular classes, we offer Adult Independent Study. This option provides the flexibility to complete coursework on your own schedule, with ongoing support from our instructors.

Our streamlined placement process ensures you start on the right foot:

  • Eligibility: Open to anyone 18 years of age or older.
  • Orientation: Required for all new students and returning students. This includes a program overview and a pre-test in English.
  • Advisor Meeting: Meet with an academic advisor to discuss your goals and determine your initial placement.

Orientations are held bi-weekly by appointment only. Students begin the program based on previous credits earned and assessment scores.

To earn your High School Diploma, you must complete the following credits:

English: 40 credits
Math: 20 credits
Algebra: 10 credits
Life Science: 10 credits
Physical Science: 10 credits
World History: 10 credits
U.S. History: 10 credits
Government: 5 credits
Economics: 5 credits
Ethnic Studies: 5 credits
Fine Arts/Foreign Language: 10 credits
Electives: 25 credits
Total: 160 credits

Our annual graduation ceremony is held each June to celebrate the acheivements of our graduates!
