Course Requirements
- In-Class Hours: Completion of 540 in-class hours.
- Competency: Pass all competencies with a minimum score of 80%.
- Externship: Complete a 160-hour externship in a dental office.
- Attendance: Maintain satisfactory attendance. Fridays may be required for makeup hours after holidays or other absences.
- Duration: August 18, 2025 – June 4, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Dental Assisting CTE Training Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- California Residency
- Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- CASAS Reading Score of 239+ and Math Score of 215+
Note: Applicants with CASAS reading scores between 228-238 and math scores between 212-214 may be eligible with co-enrollment in supplemental courses. All students must meet full CASAS compliance before beginning their externship.
Required Materials & Fees
Students are required to purchase the following materials and fees:
- Textbooks (specific titles will be provided upon enrollment)
- Solid black scrubs (2 sets recommended)
- Rubber sole shoes
- Pens, pencils, and notebook
- Dental Board Certification Exam Fee
- CPR & First Aid Certification Fee
